Overview

Thailand's highest mountain, done in the right order: the cloud-forest summit early, the royal pagodas mid-morning, then a walk on the Pha Dok Siew trail with a guide from the Karen village it belongs to.

Lunch is cooked in the village, and part of the trail fee goes to the community that maintains the path.

    A 2.5 km walk, mostly downhill, with a Karen trail guide.

Good to know

  • The summit is often 10–14°C in the morning. Bring a layer.
  • Trainers are fine for the trail; flip-flops are not.
  • November to February has the clearest views.
  • Fees in Thai baht are set by the parks and sites and can change without notice.
