Visiting Hoi An and Da Nang

Hoi An's lantern-lit Ancient Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most atmospheric places in Vietnam. Nearby Da Nang has the airport, long beaches and the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills.

Best time to go

February to August is generally dry. June to August is hot. The rainy and typhoon season runs from about September to December, and the Ancient Town can flood in October and November.

What to see

  • A cooking class and a basket-boat ride in the coconut palms.

Getting there

Da Nang airport (DAD) is about 45 minutes from Hoi An. Hue is about 3 hours north over the scenic Hai Van Pass.
