Overview

A day in the hills with rescued elephants, the way it should be done: you prepare their food, feed them and walk with them through the forest. No riding, no performances.

After lunch we walk to a jungle waterfall and float back down the river on a bamboo raft.

Itinerary

1. 08:00Hotel pickup

   Drive about 90 minutes into the hills.

2. 09:30Elephant sanctuary

   Meet the herd, prepare food, feed them and walk alongside them.

3. 12:30Lunch

   Thai lunch at the camp.

   Included: Lunch

4. 13:30Waterfall walk

   A short jungle trail to a waterfall where you can swim.

5. 15:00Bamboo rafting

   About 40 minutes down the river on a traditional raft.

6. 17:00Return to Chiang Mai

   Drop-off at your hotel.

Good to know

• We only work with sanctuaries where elephants aren't ridden or made to perform.
• Bring a swimsuit, towel and a spare set of clothes.
• Rafting may be replaced with extra forest time when the river is too high.

Cancellation

Cancel at least 24 hours before your start time for a full refund. Inside 24 hours we can't refund, because guides, vehicles and tickets are already committed. If we cancel for weather or safety, you choose a full refund or a new date.
