Overview

Bangkok's three landmark temples in one unhurried morning, then the part most visitors never see: the Thonburi canals, by private longtail boat, where wooden houses and temple steps still open straight onto the water.

We start at 08:00 so you reach the Grand Palace as the gates open, before the heat and the crowds. Your guide handles the tickets and the route; you set the pace.

Itinerary

1. 08:00Hotel pickup

   Your guide meets you in the lobby. Short drive to the old city.

2. 08:30Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew

   About 90 minutes inside the palace grounds and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

   Included: Entry tickets arranged by your guide

3. 10:15Wat Pho

   The Reclining Buddha, the chedi courtyard and Thailand's oldest massage school.

4. 11:15Across the river to Wat Arun

   Cross the Chao Phraya and climb the central prang for views back over the old city.

5. 12:00Thonburi canals by longtail

   A private boat through Khlong Bangkok Yai and its side canals: stilt houses, riverside temples and water-borne vendors.

   Included: Private longtail boat, about 1 hour

6. 13:30Back to your hotel

   Drop-off anywhere central, or at a lunch spot your guide recommends.

Good to know

• Shoulders and knees must be covered at all three temples, for everyone.
• Wear shoes you can slip off; you'll remove them several times.
• Afternoon start (13:00) available on request.

Cancel at least 24 hours before your start time for a full refund. Inside 24 hours we can't refund, because guides, vehicles and tickets are already committed. If we cancel for weather or safety, you choose a full refund or a new date.
